Donald Miller

Donald Miller grew up in Houston, Texas. Leaving home at the age of twenty-one, he traveled across the country until he ran out of money in Portland, Oregon, where he lives today.

Harvest House Publishers released his first book, Prayer and the Art of Volkswagen Maintenance, in 2000. Two years later, after having audited classes at Portland’s Reed College, Don wrote Blue Like Jazz, which would slowly become a New York Times Bestseller.

In 2004 Don released Searching for God Knows What a book about how the Gospel of Jesus explains the human personality. Searching has become required reading at numerous colleges across the country. In 2005 he released Through Painted Deserts the story of he and a friends road trip across the country. Don’s most recent project is a book about growing up without a father called To Own a Dragon.

In 2005 he released Through Painted Deserts the story of he and a friend’s road trip across the country. Another of Don’s recent books is about growing up without a father called To Own a Dragon.

Don has teamed up with Steve Taylor and Ben Pearson to write the screenplay for Blue Like Jazz which will be filmed in Portland in the spring of 2008 and released thereafter.

Don is the founder of The Belmont Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation which partners with working to recruit ten-thousand mentors through one-thousand churches as an answer to the crisis of fatherlessness in America.

A sought-after speaker, Don has delivered lectures to a wide-range of audiences including the Women of Faith Conference, the Veritas Forum at Harvard University and the Veritas Forum at Cal Poly. In 2008, Don was asked to deliver the closing prayer on Monday night at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado.

Don’s next book, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years humorously and tenderly chronicles Don’s experience with filmmakers as they edit his life for the screen, hoping to make it less boring. He then shares the principles storytellers use to make a story meaningful and exciting, exploring their affect when he applies those principles to his actual life.

Of his new book, Don says: “It might be the greatest book ever written. I don’t think anybody is going to read a book again after they read my new one. I think God is proud of me. I am going to make a killing off this thing and I’m going to use the money to go to space.”

Mike Silva

Mike Silva is committed to Jesus Christ and is passionate about using his gift of evangelism to communicate the Good News to people around the world.

Over 30 years of marriage proves that Mike is devoted to his wife Crystal and their four adult daughters. Mike has been privileged to share the Gospel with an estimated 4 million people in 27 countries. In addition to his evangelistic festivals, Mike has been a featured speaker at numerous high-profile conferences, Ivy league and college campuses, and the largest men's events and music festivals in the nation. Silva says of himself, "If God can even use me, He can definitely use you too!"

After losing his father in a tragic accident when Mike was only six years old, he found the forgiveness and comfort he longed for when he accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 10. By the time he was 19, the Lord had clearly called him to do the work of evangelism. This calling became a bright and burning passion in Mike's heart. After graduating from International Bible College and Graduate School of Theology, he spent 15 years serving in several different areas of ministry as a church pastor, a missionary in Brazil, and a national director of evangelism. Mike's original focus to become an evangelist remained undaunted and in 1994 Mike Silva Evangelism International was formed. The Lord has gifted Mike with divine passion and incredible opportunities to bring Jesus' hope to desperate souls in the hidden corners of the world. "We are driven," Silva says, "to reach the forgotten cities of the world."

Mike loves to convey Biblical truth in print and broadcast media as well. His most recent book is, Would You Like Fries With That? 101 Easy Ways to Share Your Faith. He has coauthored several other books and has been a guest on Moody Broadcasting Network, Focus on the Family, TBN, NeedHim, and Luis Palau's Reaching Your World broadcasts.
